“Three, it's the magic number”
Hat Trick

Hat, from the Proto-Germanic hattuz, meaning hood.

Trick, from the Old French trichier, meaning to cheat or deceive.

When cricketer HH Stephenson took three wickets with three deliveries, bowled-over fans held a collection, presenting him with a hat full of the proceeds. Not that we knew that when we suggested this name for one of Agent Provocateur’s magic themed lingerie ranges.
